Rae

Rae started her pet care career in high school, where she had a small dog walking business in her main hometown. After moving to Pittsburgh, Rae spent almost 3 years as shift lead at a local doggy daycare. During that time, she got Pet First Aid Certified and trained to work with dogs with behavioral problems at Humane Animal Rescue, the shelter she walked pups at every week. While working for Steel City Pet Sitters, Rae has gotten certified as a dog trainer through the Karen Pryor Academy. During this course, she polished the positive reinforcement skills learned through years of self-education. Rae is an animal behavior and care nerd that is constantly learning as much as possible through books, courses, podcasts, blogs, and of course hands-on experience with companion animals! She has a love of working with "difficult dogs" and believes effective training is less about control and more about communication
